i wrote abit about this earlier today in a post where it solved it self… i tagged 3-4 series more without a problem , then i run into a problem again with knight ridder. I just dont want to load the tittles. i post my taggs , i use filebot and it workes fine on all my series , but not this on. i have tried the plex dance , emtying my browser for cach as well. even tried to reboot my systems. nothing helps. got a clue ?
You may see better results if you adhere a little more closely to Plex’s naming guidelines for TV shows. Your naming is close, but doesn’t conform to Plex’s suggestions in two areas:
Your season directory name should be named just “Season XX” and should not include the series name. In your example, it should be “Season 01” instead of “Knight rider season 1.”
The season and episode information in the file name should be in “SXXEYY” format. Plex will do its best to make sense of other formats but is always able to match them correctly. It’s best to stick with the guidelines above.
In addition, ensure that your library folder points to the directory which contains all of your series. In your case, your library folder should be “Z:\serier” (this assumes all your other shows are located in this directory as well).
You may also want to demote the priority of Local Media Assets for TheTVDB and The Movie Database agents in Settings -> Agents -> Shows. I don’t think that Plex uses tag information from AVI files, but I’m not positive.
If you decide follow any of the guidance above, follow it up with the Plex Dance again on the whole series.
Finally, keep in mind that what has worked for one show may not work for all. Just because you’ve had success with the NxMM season/episode naming scheme for other shows doesn’t mean it will work with Knight Rider (or any other you add). Since you’re using Filebot, you can have it take care of naming everything per Plex’s guidelines automatically by using its Plex binding.
I like to have some of my folder structure working and not competley gone , thats way its this way , and i think i will contiune this way ! becouse it workes on almost all the series i add
However , i did find away to get it working again , all i did was to click on the match series in the menu and it worked as a sharm , all art and titles arrived , so know i now that
As it seems for me it looks like Plex download all information most likely from TVDB , i was thinking it got it from the files… but no.
I learn as longe as i live is all i can say… i am getting more and more happy with Plex
Becouse i diddent get informed by the guy that tiped me about filebot ! but never the less it seems to work fine so i will let it be… its not THAT fun to tag large librays over and over again.
Your files are named and structured WRONG.
Here’s how FileBot works in Plex:
TV Shows:
Note: {n} - {s00e00} - {t}
Movies:
{n} ({y})/{n} ({y}) <—that names your Movies correctly and puts them in a correctly named folder - {n} ({y}) would just name the Movie Correctly.
^^ all explained in painful detail at:
Everyone in this thread has told you to name and structure your files correctly - and you are refusing to do that, AND you keep having problems (you seemed surprised by that, but we’re not).
Well… in the words of a Great Chinese Philosopher:
“You can wrestle a horse to the ground and drown it in 2 inches of water, but you can’t make it drink.”
Ok ok i will use the mini guide you gave me and set it up corcectly , but as i told it workes fell , i just had to use fix match in plex a couple of times.
OK now i hit my head against a different wall , tried to folllow the instructions for filebot but i dont find the option anywhere , i use the newest one with paid license
I just get edit preset up when i click on that button , sud i use the strings that already is posted there ? or sucd i only type (plex) under expression ?
Genius ! i will try later to night, again i am greatefull for all the help i get
I was sceptical to plex and some of the statements , becouse i was afraid to lose my folder structure that i use in explorer , but looks like all turns out well
When i am done and happy with it i will most likely buy a life time licence
{n} = Name {s.pad(2)} = Season number, leading zero padded to two digits (01 02 – 09 10 11) {s00e00} = Standard SxxExx identifier {t} = Title of the episode.
Movie renaming
/nas/movies/{n} ({y})/{n} ({y})
{n} = Name {y} = Year (4 digit)
This movie structure gives me a folder for each movie (only 4K bytes each) in which I can place all my extras and subtitles for that movie. It makes curating much easier IMHO
