Plex is endlessly looking for servers to no avail?

Fired up my windows web app; newest version available on plex.tv, and attempted to view fully configured server(after about 6 months of not using) and now server is gone when checking in Plex Media Player, also opened PMS tray icon, launched and took me to web app, server, along with settings are no longer available? and plex simply continues looping through looking for server options. have manually added ip address, subnet masks match, and everything appears to be good to go… have uninstalled and installed a fresh copy of plex media server…just o log in to no avail…
log in on iphone, server also does not appear to be available there either… will include screenshots of account home/settings not displaying server info.

Very likely your server is using a different plex username than your web browser.
Using this procedure you can rectifiy this and make both browser and plex server use the same account.

Same problem here! Solved by the solution of @OttoKerner!!

I’m having the same problem now. It was playing fine earlier today. Tried to add my sister as a friend/user. It said she was added on my side but on her side it said unavailable. Decided to sign out, now I can’t sign back in.

I’ve followed the link above with no luck. I’m running a dedicated FreeNAS machine.

  1. right click plex media server and hit “open plugins folder”
    now delete the whole plex folder not just the plugins folder

  2. uninstall plex

  3. Delete the reg entry.

for windows: hold Windows key+R

Search for…Its “user” keys or something like that…user being the key word. Then search for the “software” folder. In that folder, you will find a plex folder. Delete that.

reinstall plex server

worked for me
