Basically everything related to setting up a server is missing on Plex web app, plex web server

I noticed my server was disconnected from plex. When i tried to add the server again (on plex media server app for windows 10), i noticed that there was no option to do so. the drop down menus lack the option, right-clicking is useless, the settings tab has been reduced to almost nothing (Account, online media sources, authorized devices, webhooks, user & sharing). No library management. no Add Server. what happened? how did the UI change so much seemingly overnight and essentially remove my ability to add media? I’m not the only one as a friend has encountered the same issue.

Did you try the web app?

I downloaded Plex media server and Plex Web App. both opened the same application that just says “Plex”

I’d love to be using the wrong app. that would be a very simple mistake with a very simple solution.

try using from your PMS server…

open a browser and put the ipaddress:32400/web of your PMS server in the address bar

like; 192.168.1.15:32400/web

hate to seem new, but how does one find the IP of the PMS?

Windows machine network and setting… check the status…
you should set a static IP, if you don’t, you will have issues as the IP could keep changing depending on the number of devices on your network.

you could try… 127.0.0.1:32400/web

I’m figuring out setting a static IP right now give me two minutes. opening PMS in browser was identical to PMS App. I am still lacking server and library management function.

There are two different type of Plex users… Home Users and friends…
Did he invite you to use his Plex Server?

We each have servers. we invited each other

One of two things…

  1. your logged in to Plex TV as a different user then your PMS system or
  2. he invited you to share his PMS as a home user… You would have seen a warning…
