Plex is ignoring a media file in the library

Server Version#: ds920+
Player Version#:

I am adding movies to my server but there is one particular file that plex will not recognize; it is contact.mkv that simply will not appear in the library. scaning the library does not help either.
I have had that phenomenon before, don’t rememeber the file name thou. has anyone ideas how to fix this?
advice or ideas would be much appreciated

The Jodie Foster film?

Read the document @flow linked.
Rename appropriately.
Plex Dance the movie.

/movies
.../Contact (1997) {imdb-tt0118884}
....../Contact (1997) {imdb-tt0118884}.ext

ext = mkv/mp4/etc.
