Plex not recognizing certain movie files

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4392

I have an issue with Plex not recognizing a few of my movies.

A movie like
“\Media\Movies, New\American Pickle, An (2020)\American Pickle, An (2020).mkv”
works just fine, but
“Media\Movies, New\Black Bear (2020)\Black Bear (2020).mkv”
doesn’t show up.

The file works fine when played from my PC bypassing Plex, but Plex doesn’t even find it.

If I browse my Plex Movie library by folder, it shows the folder but gives the message “There are no items in this folder”.

Opening the file in MediaInfo I get the following, but I have no idea if there is any clue here as to why Plex doesn’t recognize the file:

Mod-Edit: minor formatting to make the post easier to read

Plex does not ignore files based on their content… in theory you can add an empty text file – if named properly and with a supported file extension (e.g. mkv). It won’t play but Plex should add it.

On what version of Synology are you (5/6 or 7)?
Could be an issue with permissions if Plex is simply not seeing individual files.

I take it you did do a manual library scan to verify it’s not just a hiccup with the automatic/scheduled scans?

Thank you so much, both of you.

For some reason the movie files had different permissions than the rest of the folder.

You are awesome!
