Plex is losing film posters one by one

Please help! I’ve been using Plex for years and have a very large collection of media. Tonight, and after making no changes to any settings, Plex is losing film posters. Instead of the selected poster I either get a blank poster or one in a different language! I first noticed this on one film and since then the more I look the more I find have been changed.

Anyone have any ideas?

I believe the posters are stored on your hard drive in the plex server folder somewhere, If you drive is failing, it might be corrupting the poster files. Do you have your media on the same drive as the OS and have you seen any performance issues on the server recently?

System is on it’s own ssd and media is across 3 seperate hhd’s, all within a year old and tested in good health. I don’t think it’s a storage issue as plex won’t let me select a new poster (it just remains blank, even after selecting a new one) I have now noticed that if I refresh metadata, then update the poster it sticks. So I’m in the process of refreshing and updating all posters now (what a pita that is).

Just don’t understand why it’s happening at all!

Ah, alas, beyond my experience. do you know if it started happening after a recent update or anything changing?

Have you already checked if Plex’ database has been corrupted?
There’s a support article describing how to check this and attempt to repair it.
