Just in the last week or so, Plex is no longer updating my library when I try adding new files. At first I thought maybe it was a couple of the files I was importing, and them having issues with the naming convention, but I tried renaming them and also tried a tv series (naming it according to standards) and it also did not import.
I also noticed that the “TEST” library I created just to see if anything would import in to there will not disappear when I tried to delete it. I don’t know if I should remove PLEX entirely or if there is other troubleshooting I can do.
This is the first issue I’ve had with importing and never before have I ever had to change file names or anything. I tried that just to see if it, again was the file having issues, but so far no luck and nothing will import anymore.
You could attach logs - maybe we can spot the problem in the logs. Use the built in function to grab all the logs - Settings> Server> Help> Down Logs. Plex should put the zip in your downloads folder.
Add a brand new item to the library so we can see what Plex does with an item it has not seen before.
To make troubleshooting the logs easier, you should:
Make sure that debug logging is enabled (Not Verbose)
Quit Plex Server
Give the server 1 minute or so to properly shutdown
Start Plex Server and give the server 3 or 4 minutes to perform start-up tasks
Bring in a new media item or perform the Plex Dance on an existing item.
Make sure that you aren’t doing anything else with the server during this test!
Wait a few minutes and grab log files and attach them to your next post.
