Plex is telling me my program Guide is empty

THANKS Ivmikey!!! That worked!

I am using Plex 1.9.6.4385 with HD HomeRun Prime on Frontier FiOS. My program guide was empty. I unchecked SONLIFE, Channel 297 and guide data started loading. Thanks.

I am using Plex 1.9.6.4385 with HD HomeRun Prim on WOW Detroit - Digital. Experienced the same blank program guide as everyone else in the previous posts. I unchecked SONLIFE which is channel 194 for me and guide data loaded and I am now able to watch live TV again.

Running Plex 1.9.4.4325 on Ubuntu Server. Unchecked 91 SHOPLC (091 LEAC090), 91 SONLIFE (091 LEAC091), REVFRC (092 LEAC092), and 1097 (1097 SONLIFE).

Issue resolved and EPG began downloading.

I am running 1.9.6.4385 on Mac OS. Removing Sonlife did it for me too it would appear. I don’t have entires yet, but I get a message that the guide is being built and it’s taking much longer than it was before on the refresh.

Removing SHOPLC and SONLIFE (Comcast) seems to have resolved the issue.

ya i changed it to just hd channels that i watch and now it works thank you all for your help

Same setup as Aleks313, unchecking SONLIFE did the trick

Same as Aleks313 and PowerUPTV, unchecking the SONLIFE fixed the issue for me it was channel 193

This still isn’t working for me. I’ve removed SONLIFE as well as other religious channels I don’t watch and still have nothing. When I manually refresh the EPG it shows 70,000+ airings downloading, but after 100% it’s still empty… Can’t figure it out. Running windows 10 dedicated machine and running latest build.

Anyone else still having this issue and have any ideas? I’ve been without EPG and recordings/live for 5 days now… Several restarts, fixes, and attempts to reconfigure HD Homerun Prime as well as channel line up.

Try removing any unmapped channels.

Unfortunately this didn’t work for me either. My setup is running pretty light as far as channels go. It just keeps giving me hope of working and then shows up blank…

I had the same empty Program Guide issue, thanks to the recommendation from the forum members, the Program Guide rebuilt. I unchecked the SONLIFE channels, there are 5 on Charter’s lineup, and also unchecked the music channels. Cheers!

I am sorry that didn’t work for you. If it is finding airings, then I am not sure why you guide would still be blank. I know mine had to complete at 100% before I could see anything.

Removing SONLIFE Channel 297 fixed it for me as well. Amazing how that was the problem. I wonder what it was about that channel that made plex tap out.

@lvmickey Suggestion worked for me. Disabled SonLife (channel 297 for Verizon Fios in VA metro area). Running Plex windows server version 1.9.6.4385 with Silicon HDHomeRun PRIME.

Same issue here. No Guide Data…period. When I delete & recreate the DVR same result. It ā€œdownloadsā€ the data super fast but their is no data. Guide is totally empty and to go to DVR settings again. Plex DVR is useless with out the Guide data PLEASE FIX IT…Its been not working for 6 days now.

It honestly makes no sense to me. I’ve had it complete to 100% several times now and yet, by the end of it, it is still blank.

I’ve tried reinstalling plex (1.9.4.4325), confirmed the Prime is working via HDHomeRun Viewer, confirmed unmapped channels/SONLIFE are unchecked, restarted the computer (several times), and manually refreshed the EPG search (several times) of which all went to 100% showing 70,000+ airings download with the same blank results. I’m in the same boat as @Righton that I’ve been without it for several days with no plausible solution.

I feel like a broken record, but does anyone have any other suggestions I haven’t thought of or tried? I have considered taking this up with SiliconDust but it doesn’t appear to be their issue. I even updated the firmware on it (after this issue persisted) which didn’t seem to help resolve this.

So I went back through my channel list (again) and tried removing a couple more channels with still no resolution. Just to show that it’s even updating all the way, I screenshotted the process.

Nonetheless, whether the SONLIFE removal worked for you or not, it seems there is a real issue with the EPG data if it fails the entire program guide if one or more channels are out. I think this is something that @Plex needs to correct. Even if one channel isn’t part of your package, is unmapped, or maybe is just out, this shouldn’t fail the EPG. I think I speak for everyone when I say we all paid money not just for the Plex Pass to get these features, but for the hardware required to do so. I think we can all deal with the intermittent temporary outages here and there, but for me and @Righton, this is no longer temporary. I don’t expect anyone on here to be an expert or help me with this, I know in the end this is a forum. However, I do hope that Plex pays attention to their users and issues they have with their product.

I am truly disappointed in this, namely because I’ve left my system on standby for months with no issues and now it has just broken out of nowhere with no way to fix it. I guess I’ll be getting a refund and going back to NPVR for recording… at least XMLTV never failed…
