Plex isn't pulling correct tvdb match

I’m attempting to match The Berenstain Bears against tvdb-72502, but Plex is instead pulling data from tvdb-410854. The files are already named correctly and in the correct folder. What else should I try?

Server Version#: 1.29.0.6244
Player Version#: 4.87.2

Name the show folder with the date in it

The Berenstain Bears (2003)

For future reference you can also use that tvdb number like this
{tvdb-72502}

The folder name does currently include the year. I also tried using a .plexmatch file as described here and it didn’t help. I changed the library’s agent to TheTVDB, ran the fix match steps again, and it found the correct show and pulled its metadata. So, the issue appears to be with the Plex TV Series agent.

How do I tag someone at Plex to look into this and work on a fix?

Just to rule everything out, you mentioned the folder name has the year included but what about the individual files too?

Yes, the filename includes the year. For example, the first episode is named The Berenstain Bears (2002).S01E01.Trouble at School.

FYI… this show has come up before and is a little bit of a mess due to tmdb and tvdb differences. See → Bug in Plex TV Series Agent? but as far as I know there is no good solution ATM :frowning:

You’re right, there is a problem

Sorry I should have run a test file, I see what you mean now

Even named correctly I’m getting no results for a match at all

It’s unmatched when you add it, and there’s not even any search results that show up for either the (2003) or (1985) version

You have to put in the tvdb-72502 number in the search to get anything to show up at all and it’s the (1985) version

There doesn’t even appear to be a choice to switch the show order to tmdb
Bears

The Movie Database (Aired) is MIA

Right, see this thread also for more info → Reported Problem for The Birthday Boy (1x1) - Discuss The Berenstain Bears — The Movie Database (TMDB).

As I say, no good solution for this show ATM :frowning:

What did the mod mean in May when they replied and said,

  • ‘Based on the data, it looks like we should probably follow the original air dates on the Canadian network Treehouse. But it’s easier said than done.’

I think they meant that the list & number of episodes should follow the treehouse direct list (first link in my comment) but the ordering should be redone to following their strict aired dates rules. The easier said than done I believe was related to amount of re-work that would entail.

As I’m not a mod on TMDB there was not a huge amount I could do and as I’m not familiar with the show I said I’d leave it to someone more knowledgeable.
