This is an inappropriate assumption I don’t know that there is any data you can reference to back this up. While I don’t have 27 libraries, I do have 10.
Also - having more than your proposed high limit of 4 libraries for over 99% of PLEX users doesn’t invalidate the complaint or make it easier to navigate for those of us who have more than 4 libraries.

The new top-bar library layout is an absolute nightmare for anyone who’s actually organized. I don’t just dump everything into one giant library — I separate movies and shows into specific genres because it’s cleaner and easier to manage. With the old sidebar, I could expand and instantly get to the exact section I wanted.
Now? They’re shoved into a clunky, slow-loading scroll bar that hides half of them. Expanding my libraries used to make Plex better. With this update, it makes Plex unusable. Why would I add more when I can’t even see them all at once? and i was planning on adding more

Okay. I found how to add my television shows.
So, does this mean I have to reconfigure everything?
The odd thing is it recommends what I don’t want and makes me search for everything I want and that I had previously configured. My step son has lots of stuff that he shares with us, but we never watch it. Despite that, that is what Plex is recommending. None of our own stuff has been carried over to the new user interface.
Why didn’t the system designers consider making available what we already had configured?
I haven’t yet figured out how to get it to stop showing us my stepson’s stuff. It’s basically recommending everything we never watch and has obliterated everything we routinely watch. That’s just dumb.

oh i understand that. it wasnt even recommending anything similar to what i had previously watched before. and all the suggestions are plex streaming or its partner apps. not whats on the server.

That sideways scrolling list of libraries is pretty damn dumb, too. I have dozens of libraries. I’m going to hate this new app. It’s not better than the old one. It’s worse. Much, much worse.
What I don’t understand is why the Plex developers do such poor user experience testing, presuming they do any such testing at all. This isn’t the first time we’ve been through something like this. Why was there no warning? Why no preview? Why just dump crap on us like this?
It looks like the best workaround would be to stop using the Roku Plex app. I’m already thinking of using a computer instead. Apparently, the web app hasn’t been ruined… yet.

yea i was thinking the same. the web app is fine. and perfect for what is needed. like the old version. but this new one. oof they could have done the graphics up and kept everything the same but pretty’d it up sure id be down. but this is waaaaay too much of a change. too many extra unnecessary clicks and crashes

This UI is absolute hot garbage. I hate UI on Apple and this is worse because it is a remote driving interface. It is awful on a touch screen but goddamned unusable with a remote.

one that gets me is i have to go into each library individually to see whats in it. i cant just scroll the side list like in web or before this update. lot more useless clicking makes me want to use the app less.

This is a SH*T sandwich on moldy rye bread! WHAT IDIOT thought this would be a good idea? “Hey… I got it!! We’ll alienate both new AND old loyal users and utterly piss off EVERYONE with one huge untested ball of CRAP update!!”. I can’t even PLAY my content! It crashes on Roku as soon as I hit “play”… assuming I can GET that far! NASA couldn’t figure this out!! If they had 200 GENIUSES and ONE CAT working on the problem… they would go with the cat’s solution and just pee on the Plex server! It may be the only way to attain some sort of RELIEF from this festering pile of donkey dung “improvements” that you’ve pushed on us! I’ve been with you since the beginning, PLEX. I’m done now. This feels like a really bad government experiment that accidentally managed to break out of the quarantine lab. You suck.

i havent had the heart to open up the plex apps on my xbox or playstation to see if this app has been ported over to there as well. i dont know if the android app is the same cause i still have a non updated version. lets hope if this is a universal rollout of ui it gets rolled back on ALL DEVICES as it is bad across the board. and im not even mentioning the phone apps probably being just un-navigable with this ui.
