I am running linux mint. I have an Asus Router RT-AC5300. At first I could not get remote access to work. I was able to create a port forward and remote access worked for a few days. I upgraded plex and now am not able to enable remote access. I have tried for days without success.
Re-install the version that was working and wait while they do some thorough regression testing on the next version.
Thank you. Toggling the upnp setting to off and then back on and recreating the port forward it came back on.
it worked for a short time and has once again quit working for remote access.

toggling the upnp made the remote access show as working. It would not let me access from outside the network. now it will not show remote access with toggling the upnp anymore. I have a plex pass. I am good with my network and technology. I have reset and everything repeatedly and followed every instruction in the help articles. I need additional assistance in enabling remote access please.

ASUS RT-AC5300 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.45149 ?
Is this after you rolled back the Plex version to 1.13?
Yes, I have deleted the updated plex. Reinstalled plex linux 1.13.9.5456. I have updated the Asus rt-ac5300 to firmare version 3.0.0.4.384 45149. I also have recreated the port forward that was working for a few days. The only way I can get remote access to appear to be working is by toggling the upnp off and then on or by clicking apply on the WAN internet connection tab in the router and then going back to plex refreshing the page, disable remote access and then reenable remote access. It will only enable for a short time and then disable itself, or it will show enabled and then when I leave and attempt remote access it says I am offline. I am not sure what to try next.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated…
The only suggestion I can offer is based on my pfSense router/firewall.
I needed to allow my server to request UPNP (by LAN IP) then let PMS do the port forwarding request itself.
There is a strange race condition which Engineering has been working on a long time and not fully resolved.
Thank you. Can you give me instructions on how i can try this?
Unfortunately, not working with or without upnp. Can I clear a cache anywhere?

I have uninstalled plex and reinstalled it. 32 bit Linux. I am aggressively attempting everything I can to make this work. I really need some assistance. Is it my asus router? Linux? I have attempted everything in the articles over and over… DJ
The best you can do , if the device has it, is to clear its UPnP reservation table.
I flushed my computer reinstalled linux, reset the router numerous times, recreated the port forward, on and on for days… I finally picked up a different computer, installed windows 10, and after two days of troubleshooting display driver issues finally got it up and installed plex. The system already had edge browser and a window was open so I went to the plex ui and without any port forwards neccesary the system worked along with the remote access! I then installed chrome, The browser I had been using and … Yes, you guessed it… plex remote access immediately failed! after the agonizing amount of time and frustration to set this up, after following every suggestion in the help articles, and asking for help here to no avail. it turns out that plex worked fine in the edge browser but not chrome or firefox! Seriously! Am I the first person ever that plex does not work in chrome for? I am not sure why it would not work in such a popular browser? I am not sure if something as simple as using a different browser would make it work so easily and another browser not at all or with spotty service why this would not be the first suggestion in the help article instead of sending me on a two week wild goose chase changing server settings, port forwards, on and on… whew!!!
ANYHOW, Two computers, two, routers, two weeks, and two browsers later… it seems to be working now*!@
