I have already seen the post that says it is happening even without automatic quality adjustments
For reproducing the problem - i would need all the settings that are in use for Quality / Debug / Player
and please try to get logs captured soon after the loss of the subtitles - and note down the time please as close as possible to when it happened

This happens to me too from some months and is very annoying i must disable/enable subtitles or change resolution so they can start again.
I am watching avi with local subttitles in the same folder. Quality is automatic. I am accessing the server via plex.tv page.
No, please provide sa2000 with the intel they need to investigate this further.
I don’t have the right players and content to reproduce the error at the moment.
So please guys, if any of you have the means, please provide some information that can help the devs.
That didnt help, also it is just a temporary fix…why should I use more CPU than necessary, Plex devs should solve this.
On Emby, dev has fixed my Czech subtitles in one patch in about 2 days.
Here subtitles even doesn’t work and I am betting that half a year they wont work because here we have a much more time am I right ?
Still catching errors in console, its same as before. Somebody started to work on this ?
Czech people are really beated on this because subs in our language are not displaying…

For the web client at least, I was able to fix this by unchecking “Direct Play” in the settings under “Web Client” and “Debug”. I ran into this issue in the past and I remembered I had to disable Direct Play or Direct Stream, but I couldn’t remember which. It looks like it was Direct Play. I’ve managed to keep subtitles playing for 30 minutes now. Before they were dropping after a minute or two, if I re-selected the subtitles it would come back for another minute or two, but go away again. Now that I’ve unchecked Direct Play, it seems to have fixed the issue with the Web Player.
do we just assume this will always be a problem with plex then? it seems like people have been having this exact issue for literal years and it still hasn’t been fixed.
