Is there anyway to prevent a login from pc or tablet to auto login to the master account and make it select a managed user?
If I use the activate code on a Roku type device it’s fine. But if I login mobile device or pc using the email and password it logs into the master account and I want to prevent this.
With managed users you always need to sign those devices in with your main account first. Once this is done you can enable Auto Sign-In
in the app’s settings (as the admin). After switching to one of your managed users, that users should subsequently be automatically signed in.
If you don’t want your kids/wife/… to require your “master account”, you’ll need to consider creating regular users for them.
I feel that an enhancement that could be addressed. If I provide someone access to the server with a code or even the login info, it should still prompt first to choose a user first and not auto login to the master account.
It seems like you want to merge little bit of Friends convenience into in Home & Managed Users. Since, it’s not currently possible, you can try aligning your priorities with how Plex sharing works and which path works best in your case. This two response are pretty good imo, definitely give it a read:
