Hi Guys - I recently made the switch to the new Plex Media Agent. For the most part, it’s corrected lingering issues I’ve had, especially with trying to manage local actors info/images. It seems to be grabbing my local poster, but it’s not grabbing my local background/fanart. My fanart is named movie-fanart.jpg. Refreshing metadata with the switch is now pulling down something else. I’ve attached the log here where I only refreshed 10 Cloverfield Drive as an example.
I did note a prior post about this being an issue that was resolved with network paths. I am using a network path in the end but I have it mapped as a local drive. Incidentally, it’s still an issue that I can’t figure out.
It’s probably picking the clearart instead, you should just be able to edit the item though and chose the right one as all the art is getting detected:

Also, unrelated but what drives the related movies algorithm? When I’m refreshing now, it’s cutting the related movies way down and they don’t seem to be as relevant. Thanks again.
Same issue. Just switched to the new Agent and noticed my movie fanarts (named fanart.jpg) are not getting picked but posters are. Funny thing, if I renamed them to “backdrop.jpg” or removed
my clearart “clearart.jpg”, they get picked up.
Yep, it’s def grabbing clearart. I keep all the other assets around in case I’m in the mood to launch Kodi. Will prob just wait until the bug is fixed rather than eliminated all the clearart that I’ve amassed over time.
The “related movies” things is interesting too but I guess that’s for another topic.
Awesome, thank you. Really hoping that scanning all metadata will auto-correct for existing entries in the library. I’ve noticed it picking up the disc art too when the other assets weren’t available.
The 1.20.5 beta was released yesterday - this should address all the local artwork issues (refreshing
metadata should fix existing items). Let me know if you run into any problems.
Looks good so far! With these types of updates, will running a metadata refresh correct anything existing or will this only work with net new additions to the library?
