Plex Media Player - Chromecast - No players found

I’ve installed Plex’s media player. It works great except when I want to cast to Chromecast, it states ‘no players found’.

Instead, I have to use the Plex app on my Android phone.

What are the prerequisites to cast from Plex Media Player to Chromecast on a Windows 10 64-Bit OS apart from Plex Media Player itself?

I don’t have the Chrome browser installed anymore as Plex Media Player would be the only reason for casting to Chromecast on my PC.

Thanks very much and hope you can help.

Hello…have you got any solution to this problem?..I got similar problem.
Thanks in advance.

Wow, Seems like others have this issue and no resolution.
I have:

a QNAP server HS-251, Firmware version 4.3.3.3

Sim Audio / Moon DAC / amp / (updated)

PLEX . Update 3.2.1

I use media player only for high res audio streaming / listening…no video.

QNAPs generic music station software (on the server) will play my FLACs directly to my Moon DAC/player. Music Station recognizes my various “player” options consistently. QNAP plays thru its USB port, directly to the Moon player. (or via network connection)

Plex however, shows “no players found” so I cannot stream thru my Moon DAC/ amp player…
I like all of Plex’s features and want to use it.
How do I get it to recognize my player options (zones?)

I have tried from my Mac airbook and my Windows7 laptop, in Safari, Chrome, and Mozilla
I launch Music Station or Plex on the server, from my laptop, then look for the player to appear in the upper right at the icon. Music Station sees it, Plex does not.

Hope you can help.

Also an issue here. WIndows 10 Stand alone Plex player and 64bit Firefox browser. Only player ‘found’ is my Android Phone. Won’t see any of my Chromecast Audios. Does no one use a PC to kick off Plex streaming?!? I’m forced to use my phone to stream??? Come on. Please fix this.
