So recent issue, only just noticed it this today (although I generally use the web client so I couldn’t tell you when this actually started).
The Windows 10 Plex Media Player client freezes on ALL videos WITHOUT exception after hitting fullscreen mode. The video drops to something like 2-3 fps for a few seconds and then completely bugs out the screen (the rest of the pc utilization during this is VERY low, and the other monitor technically works, albeit slowly). Audio continues to run. Closing the process (via a second monitor) kills the audio, but fails to “debug” the screen.
This issue DOES NOT occur while using the plex media player while non-fullscreen, or under any circumstance with the plex web client.
It also doesn’t occur with fullscreen VLC playback of the same files from the same off-loaded location.
It occurs on both HEVC and H264 content, and I can assure you my cooling and pc performance is more than satisfactory on both the client and player side.
The PMP client “has debugging enabled” although it doesn’t show up in the appdata folder (old debuggs from when I ran PMS on this pc do).
I am running on up-to–date drivers and server/client revisions. If somehow it makes a difference… I am running a g-sync display.
EDIT: Fullscreen audio-only playback does work fine.
Absolute same issue. Windows 10 creator, Plex (pass active) and Plex app freeze in full screen mode. No other media players have the issue and apply on different video formats.

same issue here, thought it was related to Insider Preview build but now after rebuilding my pc back to Windows creator addition … full screen locks my pc up hard.
I Can also say, same issue, on two laptops and a desktop PC )all Nvidia 10series video cards , i have disabled Nvidia screen sharing, microsoft game DVR and other screen sharing and caption functions.
Same Problem here. Win10pro, i7 7700T with PMS running. Plex Media Player 64bit freezes in fullscreen mode. No issues when leaving fullscreen mode. Anyone knows a Workarround? @Plex: Fixed in next Update? When?
Same here, Windows 10 Pro Fall Creators 64bit, on google chrome plex player. I thought at first is the speed, but even on automaticaly or low quality is the same freeze at few seconds, even buffering, since the server is in the same LAN. Leaving fullscreen, it plays normal. Nothing related with heating, or CPU overload, since is constantly at 20-30%.
As temporary solving, i use, click on the dots next to the movie , right click on the “Download”, copy link, and paste it into VLC, or BSPlayer(open network stream/open URL). Works smooth like this in fullscreen.
