I have the Plex Media Player application on MacOS I wanted to know where the movies are downloaded.

with the Plex Media Player application there is a Download function which allows you to download movies located on a server. My question where are the files that are downloaded with the Plex Media Player application

This is incorrect.
“Plex Media Player” does not support the local download.

However, the version number you cited in your first post above doesn’t fit to Plex Media Player. Instead, it fits “Plex for Mac/Windows”.
And this app does indeed support the Download feature.
The link I posted above is about this app and it does also name the location where the downloads are stored.
