Plex Media Scanner crashing on library-level analyze

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2843, Intel Core i7-4770, Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Player Version#: n/a

Per @StSimm1’s request from After new update to 4.34.1 analyzing tv shows for intro skip crashes server, I’m starting a new topic for my issue. In a nutshell, using any PMS 1.19.3 version, attempting a library-level analyze will cause Plex Media Scanner to crash immediately, but not PMS as a whole. Confirmed that rolling back to 1.19.2 does not crash. Also, per @StSimm1’s request, I’ve done the following and have attached logs:

  • Shut down PMS 1.19.2
  • Deleted ALL log files
  • Started PMS 1.19.2 and performed a library-level analyze
  • Waited for analyze to finish, and shut down PMS 1.19.2
  • Installed PMS 1.19.3.2843
  • Performed an analyze on a single episode
  • For completeness, performed a library-level analyze
  • Plex Media Scanner crashed
  • Shut down PMS and grabbed all logs (but installer logs)

Thanks. I’ve made a note to circle back to this tomorrow.

If it’s any further information to go on, my TV Shows library consists of two folders. One of which is used for my DVR setup.

Do you have “Video Preview Thumbnails” enabled?

I’ve found the issue. I’ll release a fix on Monday.

@StSimm1, that’s great news. And even though the answer is late, yes, I have video preview thumbnails enabled. Very much appreciate the quick troubleshooting and fix. Cheers.

This is the RC, mind taking it for a spin?

@StSimm1, the RC managed a full library-level analyze without the Plex Media Scanner crashing.

Thanks. Shipped!
