I have noticed that Plex Scanner must have stopped working on my Synology a while ago, presumably following a Plex server software update, as it is no longer identifying any new items I add to my library (movies, TV shows and albums). It verified this both in the Mac Player app and in the web interface.
All new items I add stay without metadata and feature no cover image. Selecting “Match…” on the individual item jumps immediately to “No matches found” seemingly without any actual attempt at searching for metadata. It does so even with very well-known media.
Two exemplary items: the album “Silent Alarm” by Bloc Party and the movie “Holiday” (1930).
