Well that makes my issue with 3.104.2 web client very minor. None of my Rokuâs are showing up under Cast. I can read better from the laptop so I attach and play videos from the web client to Roku. I guess itâs safer to put my contacts in and wait.
I was already port forwarding - thatâs when the problem started for me.
But I do actually have remote access. Itâs just for the first 24 hours after a restart or upgrade the app tells me (incorrectly) the I donât have remote access).
[edit: 2nd para added]
Oddly I had the same issue where I was told I didnât have remote access, even though I did. In trying to fix the âmessageâ, somewhere things got worse and I actually wasnât able to remote access. Setting up port forwarding solved the issue and got rid of the message.
At the end of the day, if youâre able to access outside your network, but are being told remote access isnât working, I say leave well enough alone. I also say this issue needs to be fixed by Plex.

Agreed.

Yep⊠Sounds a little like thisâŠ
Server Version#: 1.16.3.1402 My PMS is behind CGNAT, so Plex can only be accessed through Plex Relay - which works like a charm. But then why do the PMS settings still show the red exclamation mark and the message âNot accessible outside your networkâ? This is pretty confusing to users, Plex should probably show an orange indicator or something âIndirectly accessible through Plex Relayâ.
It definitely needs to be addressed.
I am SO happy I found this thread! I thought I was going crazy â my server said that remote access was fine, but I couldnât play anything on my phone outside of my home network. Also, while the system mostly worked on Apple TV, I was unable to play several (seemingly random and unrelated) movies that have been in my system for months and had played fine previously. In particular, being unable to clear the âNow Playingâ list of movies (that werenât playing) was really bugging me. I donât use Live TV and DVR much, but it was also not working.
I got excited when I realized there was a new version out the other day (1.16.3.1433) but I found that it had at least most of the same problems. My server is running on MacOS 10.14.
In the end, downgrading to 1.16.0.1226 worked like a charm. There have been FIVE updates to the server since 1226 â I hope that Plex makes some sort of announcement when it is safe to update again, but that is probably too much to wish for.
Glad I found this thread as well, but unfortunately Iâm still stuck.
I was running a pre-1.16 version. Downgrading to that one doesnât help.
I get an unclaimable server.
Iâve been trying to find a link to the QNAP x86_64 version of 1226, but I canât find a link.
Does anyone have one ?
Glad itâs not just me! My issues:
No TV show posters
Intermittent audio issues (every few minutes thereâs a 1 - 2 sec cut out in audio). Iâve been experiencing the audio issue in all versions of 1.16. Even setup a new server on a different machine, same issue. Downgrading to 1.15 right now. Weâll see.
I gotta be honest, knowing what I know now, I would have never purchased this software. In fact, I wouldnât even be messing with it. But the fact that I dropped $120 makes me have to use it.
Plex might be getting a lot of accolades right now, but in charging a fee and leaving people out to dry tech support wise, the negative feedback will come back to bite you.
As I said in another post, using the forum as a means of support is not the proper support needed in solving a myriad of problems because we do not write the code, and therefor do not have the capability diagnose many of the issues here. In short, Plex staff needs to participate in these forums and properly support the product theyâre asking us to pay for otherwise charging us a user fee is dubious at best.
HOW??? **Only solution i have so far is to downgrade to 1.16.0.1226, remove tuner, then upgrade to 1.16.2.1321 and reinstall tuner and epg mapping works. Please help
I believe now you should be able to just upgrade to 1.16.4.X and the DVR can be set back up without having to downgrade and removing it firstâŠ
after updating my plex server on smart TV is empty âŠwhat can I do to see my shared files again ?
Sounds like you have the new client, these might help:
