Last night my NVIDIA shield upgraded to 8.0.1 (32.5.205.75) This morning the Plex server will no longer start. I’ve stopped and restarted NVidia shield multiple times. I’ve gone to the Plex server settings and attempted to switch from server off to on multiple times but the server always returns to the stopped state. I haven’t done anything new like moving directories or files. How to I get the Plex server going again.
There is another thread that is somewhat similar to what you are experiencing. You can try to update your server app to the most recent first.
Yes, I saw a couple threads with similar problems but older server versions and no posted solutions unfortunately. I ended up first rolling back the server version and when that didn’t work I cleared the data. Both solutions I wanted to avoid since I believed from reading previous threads would force me reinitialize my libraries and meta data. This fixed the server not starting problem and I was pleasantly surprised that my libraries and meta data where still there and intact. At least when I connected to the server over my web and on the Plex client running on my Samsung connected to the shield server. On the client running on the Shield however my On Deck settings had disappeared. Something to irritated me and check out today.
