Plex Media Server 1.41.7.9717 remote access no longer working

Using the manually specify public port setting, since upgrading I get not available outside of your network. When I click retry, it comes up green for 2 seconds and shows it is available and then changes it to unavailable again.

Have you tested the remote access setup itself?
The part about “status coming up green and switching to red” has been discussed before… that’s just Plex optimistically showing a green status while the test is still running. I wish, they could instead show some kind of spinner or non-definitive status indicator… but for now they don’t :wink:

Thanks, you sent me down the right path. I rolled back to 1.41.6.9685 and then to 1.41.9606 without any luck. Then I checked to make sure 32400 was listening on the server and then when I checked if port forwarding was working correctly it was connecting. Turns out this nic decided to revert to DHCP at some point and that’s why port forwarding wasn’t working to the static it was supposed to have. Maybe it’s time to switch it to reserved DHCP address instead.

I’m getting that version 1.41.6.9685 is up to date. And currently I’m getting remote access is indirect. I haven’t changed any settings or anything. I just noticed the indirect play the other day when I was at a friend’s house and noticed the quality sucked on their Roku TV. Checked their playback information and noticed it was on indirect play…

1.41.7 is the current beta release.
1.41.6 is the latest public version.

There’s a lot of things that can get in the way when it comes to remote streaming. Not all of them are under your immediate control or depend in you (or Plex) changing things… for starters, there’s also your ISP.
