Plex Media Server accessible web interface is asking me to get Plex Media Server

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319
Player Version#: None

I have two Debian 11 virtual machines running in Windows Server 2022 Hyper-V. The first is a dedicated OpenMediaVault file server and has a network share with unrestricted read rights named Movies. The other VM is a dedicated Plex Media Server which I installed following the installation instructions from this forum. I have used cifs-utils to permanently mount the Movies share on the Plex server @/mnt/Movies. However, when I navigate to plexserverip:32400/web, successfully reach the interface and then choose Your Media I am given a prompt to download Plex Media Server. I’m confused because the plexmediaserver.service is running and the web interface is accessible. After Googling and trying some different suggestions I’m really stumped.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Sign your server into your Plex account. That’s the first thing I would check.

I am signed in. It shows my name, I can even stream online media through the web interface.

Under Settings - General?

Under Settings > Account it shows my user as logged in. Settings > Plex Web - General just gives me a series of options, The Automatically Sign In box is checked.

General right above Remote Access. Not under Plex Web.

This is the interface of my Plex Media Server when I visit the address:

Did you go through the setup yet to claim the server? If not, log into the server via localhost 127.0.0.1 from the server it’s installed on. It will trigger the setup. If the server is headless eg: no GUI then set up a SSH tunnel from your workstation back to the server on localhost then log in from the workstation.

Fixed it, just added MATE desktop environment and then used the internal loopback you provided and it worked. Thanks so much.

Yep, no problem!
