Plex Media Server Does Not Run

Plex tells me to download Media Server. I don’t know where it went but ok. I’ve done it 5 times. Nothing happens. Every time I open Plex it tells me to download Media Server. I can see the library on my Fire TV but it is disorganized. Is there a solution or has Media Server died? I have a Lifetime Plex Pass altho I noticed it wants me to get another one at times.

You usually only get this message if you’re accessing Plex from a client that’s not signed on at all or signed in with a different user than the one linked to your Plex Media Server. This can also happen if you try accessing a server from certain clients that require the server to be signed into a Plex account while your server isn’t linked to an account… which again can happen if you reset your account password and opt to sign out all clients (which will also sign out your Plex Media Server).

As for things being „disorganized“… what do you mean by that?

I am signed in. It makes me sign in with my PIN every time. There’s only one user name. I am doing this on the computer. When I went to the tv I could see the media from, presumably, my computer/server. However, where I have several folders (movies, tv, exercise, etc.) on my computer, they are thrown together haphazardly on my tv.

For whatever reason it just sounds like your libraries got reordered or jumbled up on the Fire TV

If your content is there you just have to go to each library in the sidebar, go one click to the left and hit the 3 dots.

You can choose to pin, unpin or reorder the library whatever way you want

in the settings of the app scroll down the the “Account” settings row and turn on “sign in automatically” to skip the user picker

I don’t see that option, possibly because it is Windows and not an app?

sorry, in the Windows or Web Browser app in the General Settings is the Automatically Sign In option.

Something has happened in the last hour and the libraries are now correct on the tv. No idea but ok. Still no media server on the computer. I can live with that.

Found it. Thanks.
