I’ve installed 10.11.1.4730, only to notice Plex Server is totally hogging my internet bandwith, even when I’m not watching any media! Shutting down the server and re-starting it stops the process, but there is no information in the logfile whatsoever what is being up-and downloaded by Plex Media Server. How can one find out what’s being up- and downloaded and where is it stored? This “feature” is quite creepy!
v1.11.1.4730 is beta, The current stable is v1.10.1.4602
What do you have PMS installed on?
Is this a new installation?
Did you just add a lot of media to the server?
I am also (testing) v1.11.1.4730 on Synology DS and I am only using about 2.5 MB streaming Live TV to my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Running on Synology DS, not a new installation, but an upgrade from previous verions. Haven’t added a terrible amount of media, my libraries are done scanning.
Need to post logs for someone to confirm. What evidence do you have that Plex is “Hogging your upload and download”? What specific data is pointing you to plex? Have you done a wireshark capture? There’s a lot of missing data here.
I’d check for
- ‘indirect’ connection indicators on the apps
- existence of Mobile or Cloud Sync jobs
