NVIA Shield no longer thinks Media Server is installed or running. I had been using it for 2-3 years ok, and I stopped working a month or two ago.
When I go to the Plex app and settings it does not show the Plex Media Server cog icon nor version.
How can I fix this? Is there a way to re-install Plex Media server on the 2017 NVIA shield?
I have my Plex NAS media on a WD MyCloud PR4100, but am using the NVIA Shield as the Media Server, but stopped working.
I’ve had this happen a lot on my shield from time to time over the years. Most recently the fix has been to sign up for the beta and install the latest beta version of PMS.
Thanks. I uninstalled the Plex Media Server and reinstalled and is working though I have to redo the configuration again to point to my NAS directories etc. Also, the cog icon showed up temporarily in the Plex app settings screen but now the cog icon is gone again which really seems like a bug.
Well at least the plex media server is functioning where I can access my data again once I worked on pointing to the data etc.
