Plex Media Server issues on DS920+ running DSM7.1

Server Version#: 1.3.0.6486-629d58034
Player Version#: 4.87.2
I’ve been using Synology Plex Package v1.21.0-3744 (beta) for the longest time with no issues - none! I was so happy with Plex that I even upgraded to lifetime Plex Pass. Then, I made the fatal mistake of updating it to the latest version (at the time it was 1.3.0.6486-629d58034. Now, my Media cannot be found. Where can I download Plex Package v1.21.0-3744 (beta) for Synology from?

  1. The beta package is no longer available in the Synology Package Center.
  2. The downloads page at the Plex website only lists the latest version and, by the way, 1.3.0.6486-629d58034 is no longer available.
  3. Just for fun, I tried installing the latest version (1.30.1.6497-5fc2e0894) and that doesn’t work either.

Very Frustrated User - there must be a place where previous packages can be found.

I have this same issue, happened before this last update, went away and is now back. The interesting thing, the main profile is the ONLY one affected. I luckily had other profiles and they can see my plex server just fine, nothing is affected. My main profile tells me to get a copy of plex media server. Doesn’t matter if opened with plex app or the web version off my synology.

I have another issue that came with this last update and it’s strange. I’ll post in a new topic but basically the service halts sometime when sleeping and when I login to the box, service is stopped, but logs show it was nicely stopped, 4 seconds before I start the service, no errors or anything else in the logs.

Adding a new profile, though, I do not get the plex server to show up when adding libraries, even though the profiles that were already working, are still.

My issue is fixed, it was fixed with a reboot (EDIT: server reboot if that’s not obvious) but like the last time it was fixed (I updated nothing but am on the newest of both plex and DSM).

It LOOKS like the problem persists because it seems to delete my pins when this issue occurs and once the reboot corrects it, I have to reset all my pins, says I have no media and I have to hover the left menu for the option to add more where I can fix my pins.

I still have the other issue on random shutting down but I’ll make a new post.

These are APP issues, not server issues.

Which app?

These are server issues. I had to reboot the SERVER to fix the issue, it persisted on every “app” from android TV to web player to windows player. My pins are broken on EVERY app my profile is on after the reboot yet the media server does show again after the SERVER reboot. All the other profiles are just fine, proving this is a server issue.

Literally have to reset my pins on every device now, like I did the last time this issue persisted. My progress on shows etc are still there.

Edit: I installed a local Plex server while this issue existed and it DID see the new server while ignoring the one I’m authenticated. Other profiles saw both servers, pins are and were unaffected for sub profiles.

I missed part of your OP; my apologies.

When you upgraded from 1.21.0.3744 (beta) to production,

How long did it take to complete the “Processing” part of the install (the actual upgrade) ?
