I’m running Windows 10, I installed Plex Server and have been trying to install Plex Media Server but it doesn’t seem to be working. Whenever I try to launch it after install it just takes me back to the download Media Server screen. It won’t launch. Any ideas I can troubleshoot?
Did you by chance already run / connect that server from another Windows account or have a previous install connected with another Plex account?
I did yes. under my wife on the same laptop. So I uninstalled and try to reinstall but nothing seems to work now
Check out the notes about the Windows registry keys related to Plex in the support article linked above. You might need to remove those for Plex to acknowledge that your server is not already taken/claimed by that other account.
I don’t have a solution but do have the exact same problem. Plex was working fine until I installed the new version.
I have a Vizio TV with Plex app installed. However, it claims that the media server is not installed. How do I go about doing this for a Television?
