Plex Media Server not recognizing files after updating Synology DSM 7.3

Troubleshooting is found here:

Server name (top left red rectangle) may be a drop down menu if you have more than one server, so make sure you have selected the correct server to work with.

If you only have one server then you can ignore that instruction.

Next, your folder and file names are very important and so are their location. Follow the instructions and links given by @FordGuy61.

Do NOT mix TV Shows with Movies, Plex will ignore files named like TV Shows when placed in a Movies library and vice versa. You have been warned.

Your media should be organised like so:

Media/
    Movies/
    TV Shows/
    Photos/
    Music/

Create the Media folder in Control Panel > Shared Folders. Use File Station to add the other folders.

You place each type of media in the appropriate folder above. Movies go in the Movies folder, TV Shows in the TV Show folder etc.

Your libraries should point to the appropriate folder above. Movies library points to the Movies folder ONLY. TV Shows should ONLY point to the TV Shows folder etc.

The Media folder must also have the proper permissions and so must all of the folders and files within it.

You do that by opening File Station on your NAS, then right click on the Media folder and select Properties.

On the Permission tab, highlight PlexMediaServer and click on Edit.

Make sure all options are selected.

Click on Done, then make sure you enable Apply to this folder, sub-folders and files and then click on Save.

It may take some time for the process to complete.

After that, assuming your files are CORRECTLY named, Plex should have no problem scanning them into your appropriate library.
