Plex Media Server seems to work but can't see in web browser or Plex windows app

Server Version#: 1.26.0.5715-8cf78dab3
Player Version#: 1.44.0.2981-e2d72ac2
I can’t provide server logs because I can’t access them. The Plex player thinks there is no server.

I have been using Plex for 1+ years with no trouble at all. I have Plex Media Server running on my Windows 10 PC. I have the Plex app on my Amazon Fire Stick. I can watch all of my own content located in Plex on my Windows PC on the Fire Stick. It still works just fine on the Fire Stick.

Here’s where the trouble is: I also used to access 127.0.0.1:32400 on the same PC that the Plex Media Server is running on to change settings, manage the library, etc. (using Brave web browser). But suddenly the server settings and library quit showing up. I’ve tried using Edge browser, but get the same results. I also downloaded the Plex Player app to see if that works and it does not work. They all say “Add your media to Plex. Get Plex Media Server” but the thing is, I have Plex Media Server and my Fire Stick can access it just find and see and play all my content.

I’ve been through the troubleshooting steps I can find but either I’m doing something wrong or have some situation they don’t solve.

I’ve downloaded Plex Media Server again and did a “Repair” install. No change.
I’ve logged out and back in multiple times and there was no change.

I do not have a Plex Pass, but that was never an issue before.

Any help?

I got it working.
Deleted the 3 keys from the registry and it’s working again.
PlexOnlineMail
PlexOnlineToken
PlexOnlineUsername

I’m actually having the exact same issue. Plex Media Server is running, everything (including the local browser) acts like it doesn’t exist, etc… Can you outline the steps to delete the registry keys? I’m happy to dig around in regedit, but I know you can bork your PC’s OS if you muck around with the registry in the wrong ways.

First you have to close the Plex Media Server. In the system tray, right click and click Exit Plex.

Then type regedit in search bar in the taskbar. Start Registry Editor.

Click Edit and Find
Search for PlexOnlineMail
It will open up the section you need to look at. It’ll be in this section: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server

Right-Click on PlexOnlineMail on the right side window. Click Modify. Delete the email address in the Value data: box.

Do the same for PlexOnlineToken and PlexOnlineUsername.

I rebooted my PC and then it started working.

Good luck.
