I just got a new wifi system and new cable modem. Switched from Google Nest Wifi to Netgear Orbi and a newer Netgear cable modem. I get internet through Xfinity cable to Cable modem, ethernet to Orbi, ethernet to 24 port Network ethernet hub, then ethernet out to PC.
However, when I start Plex Media Server, it opens and then immediately closes.
Any idea what is going on?

Check that the Ethernet port on your Plex server is set for a private, not public network. In Windows 10: Settings → Network & Internet. Choose Properties if you need to change the settings. This should not keep Plex Media Server from running, but it is good to check anyway, since you’ve new network gear and Windows may pick up a network change.
You attached the log files for the Plex Web client. Please attach the log files for Plex Media Server.
Zip the directory %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs and attach it to the thread.
The default location for %LOCALAPPDATA% is c:\users\[your user name]\AppData\Local. AppData is hidden by default. In Windows Explorer, go to the View tab and check the box next to Hidden Items to make it visible.

I also tried the public private switch. No luck. Reinstalled server many times as well.
I am also seeing PMS crash after about 30 seconds after launch every time after latest update. Tried repair and reboot but same behavior.
Actually, it’s only about 10 seconds after launch each time when it dies.

There are several threads regarding the problem. Two are linked below. Search the forum for “API rate limit exceeded” to see others.
From reading those threads, the resolution is to a) shutdown Plex Media Server for 24 hours, or b) have a Plex employee reset your certificate.
I do not know if you are having the same problem as in the referenced threads, as a fix was provided last month and you are running a later version of PMS. If I remember correctly, an API Rate Limit Exceeded situation may have other causes, but the fix is still the same.
So, suggest you shutdown the Plex Media Server process for at least 24 hours.
Also asking @BigWheel to take a look. I saw no other problems in the log files, and a certificate reset has to be performed by someone at Plex. Apologies if I’m off base or missed something easy in the log files.
I reset the cert but I don’t think it has anything to do with crash. Looks to be related to DVR recording schedule of sports team. If you look a most recent plex media server.log you will see
one of the last things is was doing was processing that.

If possible it before doing above it would be helpful if you can message me your database file and server logs ( both of which can be gotten from the troubleshooting section of server settings) and three EPG file that are mentioned in my post that I will link below. ( message me by clicking on my username in forum)
This is something we are investigating. if you delete the files I mentioned here then you should be able to launch server successfully but you would need to remove that scheduled sports recording to stop it from happening again.
SECOND EDIT: And then it crashed again. Once the EPG has finished refreshing the server crashed again, there must be something in the EPG that causes these crashes I guess
EDIT: After looking at another thread I tried removing the tv.provider files which seems to have worked, the server has started and has initiated a rebuild of the EPG.
This started happening here yesterday morning as well.
Up until Friday the server (Windows 10 x64) has been running pretty steadily with the odd crash once in a blue moon, typically that seems to have been related to fast forwarding or rewinding on certain Android clients.
At the moment the server crashes 10 seconds after start up.
Yesterday I was not able to sign into the forums as the webpage came back with a internal server error, wasn’t sure if those were related then, but being able to sign in this morning but not running the server I am here to report out issues as well.

I am seeing some funky SQL schema notices in there which I am not sure what would be because of, but all of this arose after Friday night (into Saturday) when the latest update was applied AFAIK.
Please advice on what to do next as we are currently without TV let alone our Plex library for entertainment.

are pretty normal after an update of PMS. You can ignore them.
In another forum thread it appears this crash has to do with a DVR recording job for a sports team.
If you delete the tv.provider files again, then start up PMS and quickly delete the “team” recording job it might start working again.
Please confirm if this is helping you, to aid the investigation.
UPDATE: After deleting the tv.plex.providers files from the database folder and removing the DVR, re-initializing the DVR and the removing my scheduled recurring recordings of The Washington Nationals the system appears to be stable with a fully loaded EPG
Attempting the DVR Sports Team “trick” now, will update when I see if it can keep the engine running after that.

Having same issue. Was recording French open, updated to latest version and now Plex bombs almost immediately. Have uninstalled/installed, still no luck. Have two other servers running on the same network, no issues.
How do you remove dvr and tv.plex.providers if Plex keeps bombing?
Well, recovered that server by deleting everything and starting from scratch.
Now second server is showing exactly the same symptoms! Plex Server crashes as soon as you ask something of it. It was updated a couple of days ago, and no problems until now. Third server still up.
You can see why I run multiple servers.
In the database folder there are a few files named something along the lines of:
tv.plex.providers.epg.cloud
If you remove (save a backup) these files the EPG will refresh when you start the server, depending on how big an EPG you will be downloading to refresh you get x amount of time to delete the DVR setup, or remove the faulty schedule (for me it was the recurring recording of The Washington Nationals) to keep the server from crashing.
Mine has run solid through the day now, but obviously can’t reschedule the recurring recording until they fix the EPG/DVR thing.
