Plex Media Server Stopped loading on Samsung TV since last 3 updates. (3rd - 4th) week of April 2020

Server Version#: PlexMediaServer-1.19.2.2711-bab6de29f-x86_64
Player Version#: Can’t provide as its stopped loading since last 3 updates.

The App loads using Blu-ray BD-F6500 F-Series (2013) player.

Samsung TV has stopped loading… just sits at start up screen spinning and then times out.

Older TVs apps usually they don’t get updated. I suggest getting a roku or Firestick .

Thanks I am aware of the older TVs… it’s been fine until a week or so… I guess I hit the end of the road then? :slight_smile:

PMS V1.19.2.2711 was a release with one purpose, and that was to fix it, so the old Orca client would work!

So a few Q’s for you:

  • In PMS Settings/Network the Secure connections should be set to preferred
  • In PMS Settings/Network the Disable weak TLS versions should NOT be selected

On the player itself, I recommend that you do not set it up to use secure connection

Thanks for the input. Just deployed the manual install of V1.19.2.2737. Still no success.

Yes the PMS settings are set as mentioned.
Cannot view or configure the player as I’m unable to connect to it.

Try this:

  • Uninstall the Player from your TV
  • Power off TV
  • Unplug power cord
  • Wait 5 min
  • Plug back in
  • Reinstall Samsung App

It should now have reverted to defaults, meaning you have to link it again, and it’s without using secure connections
