That having been said, as long as you don’t ERASE anything during uninstall, we can get you there.
Here’s how we do this on DSM 7 target (regardless whether coming from DSM 6 or 7)
On the target system
Create shared folder “Plex”
Create sub folders Plex/Library/Application Support.
Copy the Plex Media Server folder, and all below it, and place it under Application Support
This gives us the old DSM 6 structure (Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server)
Once setup this way, We can then let the existing installation package handle all the tasks of setting up and importing your data onto the NAS.

Package Center is no longer compatible. Don’t use it
PMS 1.24.2.4973 and above are where you need to be.
