plex media server now said ‘repair’ since my old nas had dsm 6 and this new one has dsm 7. i assumed i just click repair.

Since you still have all your metadata in the Plex shared folder, you are correct to

Uninstall + ERASE

You may need to do this twice – but be careful not to do too many time else you’ll erase your actual data.

You will know all is well again when:

1. All your metadata has been removed from the Plex shared folder.
2. The new “PlexMediaServer” shared folder has “AppData/Plex Media Server”
   –and–
3. Your server is again operating normally.
