This is the initial release information which includes some history about how we got to where we are with Plex on DSM 7. It also contains the ‘Migration Instructions’ (which I’m trying to simplify) for how to get from DSM 6 → DSM 7 in this new highly restrictive environment Synology created for DSM 7. (IF they hadn’t been so strict, installation would be handled automatically).
Next is this document which shows how I was able adjust the structure of Plex on DSM 7 to make it more like DSM 6 (what we all remember). The new structure lives within DSM 7’s rules but looks something like DSM 6 (so we can make backups and emergency repairs)
