Got it working. Turns out I’m a dingus and used the wrong package download. Installed, migrated and verified everything is working as it should. Thanks!

  1. HW is disabled when burning subs.
  2. It can’t find your hardware. Which firmware version?

seems that my “old” installion will not recognized. Starting local forced adding a new server with the same name but with no libraries :frowning:

Working great here on a DS1621+ w/DSM 7 Beta. Followed the instructions regarding the permissions, and away it went.

Working great here also - I have a question. I used to back up the Plex Databases folder using HyperBackup but they are tucked away in. @apphome now. Is there a recognised way to secure these or am I being paranoid.

Did you follow ALL the instructions about granting permission for the NEW username PlexMediaServer to have access to read your media?

They are in @apphome. This is what Synology wants in DSM 7.

The WHOLE world changed in DSM 7.

I am working on all the extra bells * whistles – which include backup, restore, etc.
FIrst, I need survive the beta.

How do you all like the new GUI and feedback for install, update, & uninstall ?

Followed the instructions and changed permissions. Installed again without errors. One thing I did notice is the need to be patient during the final phase as mine sat at “Updating …” for quite a while before it finished.

For me it helped a lot as I made a mistake first time through and it explained the issue for the rerun.

Have you, at any point, used FileStation or the command line, to manually set ownership or permission inside the Plex shared folder?

Go to the top
Download the correct DSM 7package.

You still have DSM 6 Plex installed.
