I have "successfully"upgraded my synology DSM 7 and can run plex just like before. However, I noticed something tonight after adding a new movie in the movie folder and a season of a show in the TV folder. They have the usual proper naming conventions like everything else, but they will not show up, in Plex. I see them in the folders just fine. Everything else that was in those folders from preDSM7 shows up and plays, but nothing I do will make the movie or tv episodes (that are added since upgrade) show up to play. Anybody else having this issue?

I just thought that a hard reset and a fresh install would work. I donāt care to save the old libraries. Still when i open my multimedia files it shows me the link to the download page of plex, but Iām on my http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web .
Worth to mention iām not in the same network of my nas, my url is not the usual 192.168.1.xxx:32400 but a random ip from my provider. Maybe itās a dns problem ? Thank you
Now you get to use the new feature I added to the DSM 7 packaging -
Install using Plex Claim Token
I created this ability for all those awkward times like this.
- Uninstall the DSM 7 package you have with the KEEP option
- Install again using the Plex Token.
If it is of help, the package supports English, French, Castilian, German, Dutch, Danish, Korean, and Chinese. Switch the DSM language and the package will detect the language.

So will this let me get my libraries back or am I basically SOL?
I needed to do a fresh Plex install on my Synology DS218+ running DSM 7-41890. Every time I try to install the package I get the following error. Iāve downloaded the most recent version, for ARMv7 for 18 series. But nothing works. Any advice?

If the only thing wrong here is that the server got disconnected from the account (a variety of reasons), this will bring it back.
If youāve done something to reinitialize the database ā well, then you will be rebuilding to some degreee
go back and check what you downloaded.
either:
- Wrong DSM version (look for the
(dsm7)tag on the files)
-or- - Wrong model.
You need the Intel 64-Bit File for your NAS
Followed all the steps but I donāt see my libraries anymore. So annoying. My plex folder is still there and has data in it. But it never prompted to migrate anything. I tried the script in Task Scheduler (posted above) and get the error: cannot access āvolume1/@apptemp/PlexMediaServerā: No such file or directory

I have followed your instructions. erased Plex from DSM6, restart DSM 7. Then, I have downloaded the ARMv7 ( I have a NAS DS 415 Play ) and after few seconds, it shows the message :
This package is not supported on the platform of Diskstation or is incompatible with the current DSM version.
I am stuck here. Cant go further. There is no PLEX shared folder installed. Nothing, in fact, is installed. I have, of course, checked the current version of DSM7. It is updated to DSM7-41890.

DId you uninstall the DSM 6 package first ?
From all youāve stated here, it sounds like you āupgradedā which is not how the migration procedure instructs. In the initial packaging (what you have now),
- Uninstall the DSM 7 package & Erase (so itās not confused)
- Now install the DSM 7 package.
- It will migrate
- Itās an X86 Evansport - Not an ARM

Yes I did. I have tried this many times now and no success. Have uninstalled DSM 7 package now multiple times using all options. I reinstall using the Claim token and it prompts me to create a new server and add libraries as a new server.

There are some users whoāve had Plex for so long that the shared folder is named /volume1/plex and not /volume1/Plex
Not catching that was both a DSM 6 problem and my oversight.
I can help you migrate now because the new packaging expressly looks for more of those rare combinations.
