THIS ONE

I clicked the wrong link

Tried SSH and get this: Could not chdir to home directory /var/services/homes/bkays: No such file or directory

Yes. Plex is installed. But it can’t find the network. Cant connect to the NAS.

If Plex cannot find the network, I’m sorry but you need figure that out.

Is the NAS connected to the outside internet AND configured ?

@bkays

That’s normal. The 2.0 package does not need SSH to operate.

I’ll check that. It is connected to the Internet because I can see all the free movies from PlexTV…

@GVautier

Your computer can see the movies from Plex. The NAS might not. Your NAS is not involved with the Free movies.

OK. I have tried again. Now, it says I have no authorization. And the Plex shared folder has disappeared. Guess I have to do something ?

How do I get into SSH shell to check that?

Looking at my shared folder names it does appear that it is a lowercase letter “p” in plex folder name.

Is there anybody left ?

I’m sorrry, I had to step away for a few minutes.

Give me a bit to get back into this. ( i work from home / retired )

@GVautier

Now we have something.

If you do the following:

  1. Uninstall & Keep the data (this keeps what you have done – just like DSM 6)
  2. Reinstall the package again + “Plex Claim Token” method.
    a. Get the token
    b. Paste into the Window
    c. When it completes, it will confirm it is Claimed for: YourName
  3. it should be normal now

I won’t bother you too much…

Ok, I will install again the soft. I’ll let you know… I am on it. Keep you posted.

@bkays

Now we have something we can work with

Please share:

  1. How many volumes do you have?
  2. Which volume is PMS installed on?
  3. what does the shell output of these two commands show
echo /volume*/[Pp]lex*
echo /volume*/@apphome/PlexMediaServer

@GVautier

This is what you want to use

It should be in French :slight_smile:

Hello,
I spent a long time reading through this guide, reading all related guides, and felt prepared to upgrade my DSM 6 to 7. I ran the update, followed these steps to a T, but when manually installing the plex package on DSM I get the error Capture2

I have tried everything I can find in these forums but seem to be unable to process the migration. I have made sure to ERASE when uninstalling old package, I have tried the regular and token claim options with same errors. Plex metadata and library and packages are all on the same volume (I only have 1) and the Custom permissions are assigned to my library and metadata folders for the new internal user account. Assistance would be greatly appreciated, as many of my friends and family are without their content until I get this figured out. If this is not an appropriate place to post I will happily move it to the correct spot, let me know. Cheers
