I am new to Plex media server but after the installation I clicked on the +your media section and got message to install Plex media server. I did that and still when I try using the +your Media it just keeps telling me to install the Plex Media Server. When I load the Plex player on my TV I see my system but nothing under it, which makes sense since the Plex Media server will not allow me to make personal libraries.
Troubleshooting - I have unistalled the Pleax Media server and reinstalled but still it does not work.
I have watched videos talking about how to run the wizard but when I reinstall no wizard comes up.
Any help that anyone can offer would be appreciated since I do not see any actual tech support.
In order to complete the setup you need to open your Plex Media Server through its local IP.
If you’re on the same machine… open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser. If you’re on a different machine inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead. This will bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (as well as creating your first libraries).
Once you “claimed” your server (=linked it to your Plex Media Account), you’ll also be able to access it from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop.
