As far as I can recall I have made no changes however the last week or so my LG TV has been showing the ‘Network Unavailable’ splash screen when launching the Plex app. I know this isnt true as all other apps on my TV are working fine and connecting to the internet. If I leave the TV on that screen for a couple of mins it will eventually load into the app & connect to my Plex server fine which makes it even more weird.
I have tried unplugging the TV, re-installing the Plex app, rebooting my router, rebooting my plex server.
Does anyone know what might be the problem or is this an issue with the latest version of the LG app?
Server Version#: 1.40.1.8227
Player Version#: Client Version: 5.80.0 Platform Version: 8.3.0
I think it is the same issue as mine. My server is on a Synology Nas and I have been told that that might be the issue, but it never happened before and it is only on LG app so I honestly think that the problem is there.
TLDR: needed to force other DNS server on the TVs.
I have 2 LG TVs, one from 2018 and other 2022. Both having the same problem.
Normally they are connected by ethernet
-Tried to connect by Wifi - same problem
-Tried to connect by using my iPhone as AP and they worked! That made the issue being my IST router
Changed TVs DNS, and after a reboot, the Plex App tv started to work again.
What I think is happening is that PLEX APP tries to reach some address/IP address, to check connectivity, and for some reason my ISP started blocking it recently…
My TV and Plex Server are in Different VLANs, all required Ports are open & Firewall + DNS is checked - no issue there. Just blocking the analytics stuff network wide, but Windows, MacOS, iOS & FireTV app running without problems.
