I am using a Windows 10 pc where I have downloaded the server file to, I have installed and signed in to the server but even when I click open plex on the taskbar it says the server can not be found? I am using Mcafee antivirus if that has any effect, plex looks like such a good program/service if only I could get it working so if anyone can help me it would be very appreciated. You must not use Microsoft Edge as the web browser.
Install Firefox or Chrome and open this URL in them, after starting Plex server
http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
And tell McAfee to not inspect encrypted network communication. Or disable it altogether for the first tests. It is known to interfere far too much with anything.
Have you ever installed Plex on this computer before?
If you did, even if it was years before, there might be still some old plex.tv account data in the registry. Use this guide to remove all traces of the old installation and then re-install plex server: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/
