the problem is not this film as this is old media and is just fine,I just used this to display the info you needed. The problem is with any new media i put iunto the same library, after scanning Plex just doesn’t see the new media, doesn’t show anywhere in Plex
You can’t add individual movies to Add Folders.
Add Folders IS ONLY for Movie Library Folders - or TV Show Library Folders.
You can’t make the root of a drive a Library. You MUST have a Folder and all your Movies MUST be in Movie Library Folder - not just hangin out on the root.
You need a complete Do-Over.
Create a New Movie Library Folder - or several on different drives if you want - didn’t bother me any - and put ALL your Movies named and structured properly in one of them.
as stated this is not the issue it was just an experiment. The issue is new media that I put into existing lidraries…it the old media in these libraries is fine no issue, the new media does not show in Plex.I have been doing this way for a long time, only since the last update have I had problems
Your entire library system is hosed.
Fix it.
are you saying that I need to delete all libraries and re add them. It’s not an issue I’ve done it before but just to clarify
I would.
Plex puts every item in a ‘Bundle’ and it has a million little things in there that tell Plex what to do with it. When you start messing with things - or if things are as messed up as they clearly are - it’s time for a Do-Over, but this time you want to do it right… unless you wanna keep doing it - and having done it way too many times myself - I try to avoid that if I can.
I use FileBot and make sure everything is just right before it’s ever dropped in a library. A clean bundle is written and everybody is happy.
Do that.
I highly recommend it.

If you set it to UK English - it’ll probably name the movie Redemption (2013)… it’s smarter than I am - that’s certain.
I have only done it once before and that was because my old PC ate everything.
ok it seems there must be a setting that is stopping any changes.I can’t delete any libraries, change any media or make any other changes
@tom80H should at this time continue with more advanced help.
yes thanks
Hi the problem seems to be that plex will not allow me to make changes.I have tries to change posters delete libraries and media but Plex just says unable to save changes,or something simular. Is it possible that something has been changed to stop changes being made?
If you cannot make changes to your own server / libraries this could mean your system’s database got corrupted at some point in dealing with all this.
Have a look at this support article to see if the corruption can be repaired.
Thanks I’m no computer whizz but I’ll give it a go if I get time during the week.If I have no joy I will have to get back to you.I did notice there is a restore settings in Plex, not sure if that would help.
One step at a time.
Restoring the install (=the installer app attempts to fix the installation) does not fix your setup / database.
There’s an option to restore your database only if you let Plex have regular backups of the database… depending on how long your database has been corrupted, that backup can be quite old. If you go that way, you might be better off doing a clean install and start over.
Did a clean install earlier today, that was problematic but I got it sorted in the end.
