Hi, within the last two weeks (including with the latest updates), I’ve had issues with several shows having their data successfully grabbed from the TVDB. (I have included screenshots here for one of the numerous of these)
Of these shows, I have tried storing them in both Standard and Daily format, further I have completed the full “plex dance” to ensure new data is being collected. However, regardless of my attempts, even with the data existing on TVDB and the show being matched correctly, half of the episodes have no titles and simply say “Episode XX”, whilst these titles do exist.
Thanks for the reply, I can’t seem to see that as an option, unless it’s the “episode sorting” setting…
Is that a setting only pertaining to the annoying new metadata scanner/agent?
I genuinely don’t use it purely because it has far bigger issues than the current/original TVDB one for wrestling based content
EDIT: I can however see it on a per show basis, with the options of “Airing order”, “DVD order”, “Absolute numbering”
Yeah no worries, I appreciate the help, and I can understand how having the two different agents may make it harder to diagnose issues, but must say I do find the “modern” agent to be genuinely less helpful for this sort of content.
Hey mate, I’ve found a really interesting bug based on this initial report…
It seems for some reason that plex is now incapable of grabbing an episodes title without it’s attached overview in some circumstances.
I know this sounds odd, but I have just witnessed this, as once an overview was added to a handful of the episodes which were failing to be added (overview added on TVDB that is) to plex, all of a sudden are being picked up by plex with their titles and overviews being added to the library. Whilst this has solved the episodes that have since had a description added, the later episodes which continue not to have an overview added have not had their titles added by plex.
I can see why this seems odd, as I have in my own experience seen this not to be an issue in the past, but perhaps there is the potential that this has been caused by a recent update.
I would appreciate if you could look into this, Cheers!
Hey mate, with no disrespect this isn’t the issue with regards to the issue I’m facing, as the data regarding the episodes I’m concerned about is always available many weeks in advance
Cheers!
Edit: Realised you’re actually talking about the other bloke not seeing data refresh immediately lol
Hey mate, I’d be intrigued to see if that works for whatever series you’re looking at, because if so (and for the record when I did the same for the series I’m concerned about it took 2-3 days) then we’d have a rather compelling case of this issue being present.
