Since Plex does not comply to Windows’ longPathAware to allow paths exceeding 260 characters (this should be in Plex’s application manifest), I had to resort to prefacing my libraries folders with \\?\ in order to get long paths such as "D:\Videos\Séries\Parks and Recreation (2009)\Season 07\Parks and Recreation - S07E10 - The Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show\Parks and Recreation - S07E10 - The Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show [WEBDL-720P][AC3 5.1][H264].mkv"to be recognized, per this advice.
The path to my corresponding library folder is \\?\D:\Videos\Séries
The problem is that now, no srt subtitles are being imported, I have to manually add them to each episode. I already have checked and Local Media Assets is enabled for every agent. This issue popped up as soon as I made this change in my libraries.

Also, and in above, I assume your TV Lib root path is set towards: D:\Videos\Séries
And when said, I STRONGLY recommend not using extended characters, so personally, I would rename D:\Videos\Séries into D:\Videos\Series
This naming convention was working perfectly fine before I introduced the \\?\ prefix, so I hardly believe this is the problem. Also, using a single folder for the whole season looks like a mess when you need to have srt files for every single episode.
I should add that this issue also happens for D:\Videos\Filmes, so extended characters also are not the problem.
First of all, when not following the Std, then what used to work might stop working, as such, use the std!
And when said, make sure PMS debug level is set to debug and that only.
Then do the Plex Dance on the episode, regardless of it was in Plex or not, followed by adding it back again
You should also know that before posting this, I also tried recreating my library from scratch by renaming %localappdata\Plex Media Server to something else and starting a new one. Same issue.

Also, you still have extended characters in the Seriesfolder name, and lastly there’s no indication in the logs that you did a Plex Dance
The Plex Dance may have disappeared from the logs because I purged everything before gathering the new ones.
But perhaps I should use another file. I have this issue with every single entry in my library, but some are “easier to debug” than others.
For the following logs, I renamed %localappdata%\Plex Media Server to something else and started a brand new one. I added the movie folder \\?\D:\Videos\Filmes (which follows the UNC path guidelines) and waited until the every library task was done.
Subtitles were not picked up for any file, but for a sample, I shall provide
It is a supported language code, Plex loads it as Português (SRT external)
But just to be on the safe side, I remove the language code for 3 different files and the issue persisted, except now the files were loaded as Unknown (SRT External). Plex seems to recognize there is a subtitle file, but doesn’t load its contents.
I did the whole “new Plex Media Server folder” thing again and used "D:\Videos\Filmes\The Godfather (1972)\The Godfather (1972) - [BLURAY-1080P][AAC 5.1][X264].mp4"
and "D:\Videos\Filmes\The Godfather (1972)\The Godfather (1972) - [BLURAY-1080P][AAC 5.1][X264].srt"
but got the same results.
Both .srt and .pt-BR.srt were found, I can see the files selected when I play the media, but the contents are not being loaded. I would already have removed the language code from every file if this made them work, but it doesn’t.
So not imported, as in the title of this thread, or shown in a player when trying to play them, since that’s different things, and I was looking for PMS not importing them in, and saw they where
And if not shown in a player, I need more details, like which player, as well as logs for when trying to play, with player logs as well
And a sample of one of the subs could also help, since it has to be in UTF-8 encoding
Perhaps a better title would be “not being imported correctly”, as importing them manually (via “Upload”) fixes the issue.
Every srt file is UTF-8 encoded, this is ensured by my Bazarr setup, which automatically converts whenever it downloads a non-UTF-8 file.
My player is Plex Media Player 4.29.2, but this also happens in the web player (whenever I get it to work before the transcoder crashes, the reason I use PMP in the first place is because all my files are local and I don’t like transcoding).
Plex for Windows is less powerful and also relies on transcoding, I can’t even get it to work.
And yes, I did check the files in Notepad++, they are indeed UTF-8. Also, whenever I use “Upload” to manually import a subtitle file, it’s always the exact same file that wasn’t correctly imported automatically.
All my movies and TV series use external (.srt) subtitles
This folder structure just works
Note that the srt file has to have the same exact name as the movie with the added 2 or 3 character language code, I use the 3 (eng)…

One thing to note is just because you got something to work yesterday it may not work tomorrow. The developers may change code that breaks what you had working, The developers should follow the docs also to keep everyone on the same page.
