Hi!
After updating due to the breach, the Plex App on a Medion TV now seems to be broken. I can use it and play files, but I can’t see any posters and images in the app. I am not really able to see whats going on, can’t see any errors in the logs. The only hint is a javascript error in the overlay logs of the webapp on the Medion TV (see photo). Would a kind person here be able to make sense of it?
I have it running over a reverse proxy, but I have no problems with a different Sony TV in the same network as the Medion TV, as well if I connect via webinterface (local and remote)
Seems like an http(s) error. Have you tried fully shutting down the tv and restarting? Maybe there is a cache issue that might be cleared after a reboot of the tv/streaming box. Switching the Secure Connection setting under ‘Settings > Network’ on the Plex server might also help.
Yeah, tried that several times.
The ‘Secure connections’ setting is set to ‘preferred’, which seems to more permissive.
Also, I didn’t change any of these settings, and now suddenly it stopped working.
What about signin out and back in?
I’ve factory reset the app once and redid the whole signing in process. The problem remained the same. I can try it again tho
I had another look today, and it turns out that I had to set ‘Allow unsafe requests in local network’ in the smart tv client to ‘Never’.
Which is weird, and I don’t understand why, but I take it as it is.
