Plex not updating new content (OSX)

Am running Plex Server v 1.41.8.9834 on a Mac Mini, OSX 15.5.

For many months, when i add new content to either my Films or TV shows folder, it gets updated in Plex, my clients etc. Been great, running like that for years. But the last few months, maybe six months or more, this hasnt been the case?

Is this a new OSX permisssions issue or something else?

Honestly, if I put new content in these folders, they dont update in Plex. The files are generally mp4’s and have been recently re-encoding them as H265’s before adding them to the file directory.

Is this about automatic scans failing or is your PMS failing to see any files (scanning manually or automatically)?
Are your files on an internal, external or network drive?

Thanks for your prompt reply. There are no new files being scanned into Plex Media Server. The files are on external drives to the Mac Mini.

Plus earlier today, I deleted the PMS from the machine, getting rid of the cached and library files. Re-inistalled and still the same issue!!

Same issue as in Plex won’t find any of your media or that the automatic scan won’t recognize any subsequently media?

If your server doesn’t see any of your media, you might need to tune the macOS system settings to see your files & folders / drives.
