Has many others, I'm currently waiting for the availability of Official Plex client on my LG UltraHD TV 55UB850V ... but this is really strange : Plex is not available for me, while one of my friend that just bought the LG UltraHD TV 65UB970V could download and install the official client ...
Both TV are WebOS driven, both TV does have the same hardware concerning the WebOS engine ... so, what ?
It seems that there is no definitive rule about the LG/WebOS Plex Client at this point ?
The 65UB970V is not webos driven. It uses LG's previous smart TV platform.
Really strange, because the two TV are sharing the exact same GUI ?!
I CONFIRM that the 65UB970V IS actually a WebOS TV. You can check this on LG site :

Sorry about that, I googled that serial number and a video review turned up but it turned out to be for a different tv.

Finally the Plex arrived to my app store (Hungary) with a 47LB650V, already installed, put the pin and everything works just...
Is there any way to use Palylists (as in the web version or is it a later implemented feature?) and what is more irritating is the navigation buttons and the poster of the Series/Movie is always on the screen, can it be removed somehow? (It is over the subtitle and over the 1/4 of the screen, yeah I know it is transparent but it is not the best ).

Only on ps4 app is the menus removable and Simons plex app! So sad it would be perfect other than that

You may find my determinations are below;
I have 3 LG TV's. First one is UB830 ( Non-Web OS ) Second one is : LA620 and Last One is UB980V ( Web OS TV ). Also i'm using latest version of Plex running on the QNAP 469-Pro ( Intel Version )
1. ALL LG TV's: I think this app does not support directplay function. I'm getting "Buffering" with mp4,mkv,avi etc.. always. ( especially big files like 3D movies and DTS movies ) on the all LG TV's. Some movies like 3D content can't play with LG Plex App. But same movies working without any issue with LG Smart Share function.
2. ALL LG TV's : Plex Home and Extras functions does not support yet..
3. Web OS TV : Magic Remote does not work properly. For Example : Magic Remote "Back" button not working. If you enter the wrong folder etc.. you need to back to the home directly using Plex App "Goto Home" menu section. ( non-web os tv's don't have this issue )
4. Web OS TV : If you start movie from LG Magic Remote controller, play menu ( bottom on the movie ) does not hide automatically after 2-3 seconds. But if you start same video non-magic remote ( standard LG Remote ) play menu auto hiding 2-3 secs. later. ( if you tap the magic remote while playing movie, play menu not hiding automatically again. You need to stop movie and start again with non-magic remote and don't touch magic remote while playing movie ) :rolleyes:

It lacks the "by folder" feature I use in some of my libraries. But, it's a very good "v1.0" version indeed.
Same bug mentioned by IndividualLover concerning the Magic Remote on my 55UB850V. I must start Plex app from the classic one for the play menu to disappear after 2 seconds.
I concur with the bug using Magic Remote on 55EC930V.
I installed it on my webos TV and it work great ! Good job Plex team and a big thanks.
I have theses bugs too, no sound on optical when i put the dts and the player doesn’t hide when playing.
But it is a good begin !
Another "bug"... it seems that when I select, in settings pane, that my "recevier" is DTS compatible... the sound does not play anymore on my DTS Amplifier (via the optical output).
Just decided to hve a browse through the lg app store, as I dont really use it, its cluttered, however have done a bit of testing, yep works great, 3D works a treat as well, as reported previously is the banner does not disappear. Apart from that great first version especially compared with the xbox 360 verison that I cannot still not get to stop buffering.

Has anyone figured out how to hide the menu overlays in WebOS? I’ve got an LG 55UB8500 and there doesn’t seem to be a way to hide the playback overlay when using the magic remote… and unfortunately all I have is the magic remote.
Would love to be able to use the official Plex app without playback controls on top of the video!
