Guys for some reason the back button functions and controls whether or not your playing the movie from the start or not hides automatically. Funny thing is I did not notice the app update.
Cannot wait for this to be a full release. I'm using playz which is AWESOME but it's just missing a lot of the home comforts I'm used to on my Samsung.
Sadly it looks like my amazing lg-42LM670T isn't supported.

I think I might cry.
you don't have to wait, get yourself a plexpass and you can be using it right now. it's already an excellent client and I use it daily.

But I don't need PlexPass or any of its features - so basically this is paying $150 for an app for my LG TV. Hard to justify. I'd pay $10 or $20 (bought PlayZ for $5) but $150 for an app? Too high.

You don't need to pay $150.00 for a plexpass lol you can set up a monthly plan at only $5 and cancel anytime. Even if you only kept it for a month or two it wouldn't be a lot of money and would give you the enjoyment of a better Plex experience until the app is for sale to purchase.
Ah man, was over the moon to see this finally hit the LG store, then slowly that joy turned to despare when i realized my 2012 55LM670T isn't supported :( , i guess ill stick with Medialink.
And that you will get when the current app is finished. This app is still in the development stage and is allowed to be used and tested by plexpass members. it's one of the benefits of having a plexpass. When it's complete it will be released to everybody, and then you will have the app you asked for.
It'll be done when it's done, if you want it sooner get a plexpass.
I was really excited to hear was releasing a updated Plex app for LG TV's. I have a LG 55LM620S. Unfortunately I was really disappointed to see my TV isn't support when I visited LG SMART WORLD website, I also saw other members mentioning that LG 2012 model is not supported :(
However, on the Plex bog it is stated that 2012 models are supported? Could someone kindly clarify?

I had to read it a few times, and it is confusing right around here " and LG Smart TVs (2013 Netcast and 2014 WebOS models), and 2012 and newer Samsung fridges (OK, maybe not really). "
The app is made available through the Smart TV Alliance for LG televisions. The 2013 "Netcast" and 2014 "WebOS" based models are supported as indicated. You can find the list of supported LG models on the Smart TV Alliance website."

Sad to hear from Barkley's blog post I thought there was a chance to get a better and more sophisticated UI for my LG TV. I will have to carry on hoping and dreaming (and to continue using Media link) :(

That's the thing I hate about Smart TV's, they become Dumb very quickly.
