I purchased a Hisense 4K TV and have set up the PLEX app. Unfortunately it shows all my content as normal but not my own thumbnails/artwork. Everything is up-to-date. I can the Plex artrwork on my media server via an Ipad/Mac and our main LG 4K tV but it doesnt show the thumbnails on the Hisense TV.
However, I can see all of PLEX’s own media content thumbnails/artwork (when you scroll underneath my stuff), just not my own media library artwork. There’s also a very slight ‘stutter’ when playing back content but its still just about watchable.
Any suggestions - is it the TV OS (being too old) or something else. Should I just ditch the Hisense APP Streaming and buy an external streamer like a Firestick or Roku?
Are you referring to within the Plex app itself? Or the thumbnails on your TV’s main dashboard where it shows your other apps (ie. Twitch, Youtube, etc)?
My Plex app itself works beautifully on my Hisense 4K TV, but the occasional thumbnail doesn’t show up on my main TV dashboard. After opening Plex, then closing it and waiting a minute for the main page of the TV to refresh, they usually all pop up.
Yes, the Plex app itself. Its not Plex as I can see the art work on my big house LG TV and my iPad too. Its not just the occasional moveie or show it doesnt show, its ALL of them
Ah I see, unfortunately I’m not really sure then. My issue has been the reverse of this sadly.
Shot in the dark here, but have you checked for updates for your TV? I was about to check Hisense’s page today for an update for mine (just being curious).
I did check on the TV itself, but sometimes there’s caching issues or whatever.
I would recommend trying to get some client logs though, any dev of employee will want that and likely server logs with debugging on.
