I’m running a few instances on all LG tvs without fail for a long time now. Lately Plex startup is about 3 minutes. The whole thing is so slow it’s pretty much unusable. I’ve even reformatted tvs back to their original state to only notice a slight change in speed. Most of the tvs are 2018 models. What else can be done??

I use Plex on several devices. I have an LG 82" UM8070PUA tv web os 5.30.11 running Plex for LG, client 5.49.3, Platform 4.9.0 and comes up within 30-35 secs. I have Plex server on a nas box running ver 1.30.0.6359-7000.
Both my devices (nas & tv) are using ethernet connections. Does plex run ok if using from a computer and going to the plex website and connecting that way work ok, possible a local lan connection issue if your using wifi?
all devices are 100mbps ethernet links. From a computer they all run fine. Also have 1-2 raspberrypis running plex that work perfectly, but i’ve stopped using them as its been nice having it all integrated on the LG tv
I will offer you a possible solution. Your LG TV Network settings (Not Plex app), change it to manually configuration and make sure your DNS is 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 Instead of your ISP default which is applied with auto Configuration… This will help it load faster. For me 20 seconds and I live in Australia, a long way away from Plex mothership.
hmm our server is local on the same subnet. Trying a few different DNS options doesn’t seem to affect it.
